Dr Neena Singh is Information Specialist, and Incharge University Library at G B Pant University of Agriculture and Technology situated in the Himalayan region of the State of Uttrakhand, India. She has been instrumental in establishing and developing learning resources and connecting patrons with information for more than 18 years with most innovative tools and techniques. Using advanced automation technologies like RFID, WiFi, building electronic resources, strengthening institutional repository and digital content she has elevated library services to smart spaces. She has also led successfully the transition from print to electronic resources in the library and has been part of many IT projects in automation and digitization. In academic front she has also been teaching credit based Information Literacy Courses to post graduate students of College of Forestry and Hill Agriculture,Pantnagar varsity and Uttrakhand University of Horticulture for past 18 years. Earlier in her career 1995 -1996 she worked at Indian Institute of Health Management Research (IIHMR) in the City of Jaipur, Rajasthan, and was responsible for management of information in automated and international networked environment in Health Sciences. Dr Singh is member of many international associations like IAALD, Kentucky, USA ; COLLNET, Germany, QQML Greece and apex Indian library associations like ILA, New Delhi and IASLIC, Kolkata. She has brought the attention of several issues and opportunities affecting Information Resources in Indian Agricultural and Biological Sciences and working towards World food security in collaborative way through international forums like IFLA, IAALD etc.
Dr Singh is also actively involved in contributing and presenting papers at International forums of several European countries as well as participating in Indian Professional Association meetings . She has authored more than 50 research and informative articles published in journals of International and National repute and is also associated with editorial board of peer reviewed journals a reviewer. She has travelled widly across India , Europe and United States. She is receipent of many travel fellowhips and grants from BI, Germany, IAALD, USA, and IAALD -Montpellier, France for academic assignment. Her strong areas of interest and researching are Institutional Repositories, Open access/ open data, Information Literacy and Lifelong Learning, besides Digital Repositories, and Digital Libraries.
