I’m a Biologist with a MSc. in Plant Breeding from the Universidad Nacional de Colombia. I’m currently a PhD student at the Ontology Engineering Group in the Universidad Politécnica de Madrid, Spain.

My research topics have focused on plant biotechnology and the use of Semantic and Social Web tools:

· Marker Assisted Selection, Genetic maps and QTL mapping, Association mapping

· RDF and OWL for ontology development. Particularly, developing biomedical ontologies and addressing the problem of representing experiments and experimental information

· Story-telling techniques for software design; with special emphasis on participatory design
