Pedro Luiz Correa Pizzigatti is Associate Professor at Escola Politecnica da USP (EPUSP) - Department of Computer and Digital Systems since 2003. He graduated in Bachelor of Computer Science (ICMC / USP, 1987) with PhD in Electrical Engineering (EPUSP / 2002 ). Visiting Scholar at University of Tennessee of Knoxville (UTK) School of Information Science,  Climate Change Science Institute of Oak Ridge National Laboratory (CCSI / ORNL) and United States Geological Survey (USGS). Fellow of the National Council for Scientific and Technological Development, CNPq, Brazil. He was a consultant on Integration of Information Systems and Data Base of the Ministry of Environment (MMA, 2012-2013). He was fellow of UNDP (United Nations Development Programme BRA/97/001) in Modernization Program  - Coordinator of Information Systems in  Sao Paulo State Finance (UNDP 1998-2002). He was software engineering of Accurate Software, responsible for developement of Eletronic Data Interchange (EDI) software (2002-2007). He was Researcher level II from Centro Nacional de Pesquisa em Informatica - CNPTIA – from Empresa Brasileira de Pesquisa Agropecuaria  (EMBRAPA, 1999-2002). Areas of interest: Distributed Database, Information Science, Scientific Data Management and e-government. Other areas of interest are: Modeling and Simulation Computer Systems, Distributed Systems, Software Engineering.
