Biography
I am in the Agricultural Research Service of the Indian Council of Agricultural Research (ICAR) since 2004 immediately after completion of my PhD from the Indian Agricultural Research Institute (IARI), New Delhi. Currently, I am working as a Senior Scientist (Plant Physiology) at the ICAR-Indian Institute of Horticultural Research in the Bengaluru city of Karnataka state of India. I joined the open access movement in the year 2008 and since then advocating for the Open Access, Open Data and Open Education in India by establishing ‘Open Access India’ a community of practice. I worked with my colleagues and friends to start the first Open Access journal in the ICAR, the Open Access Journal of Medicinal and Aromatic Plants and actively participated/worked for the adoption of Open Access policy by the ICAR. Apart from the being a proud member of the FORCE11, I am also a proud alumni of OpenCon 2014, member of the OKFN Open Science Working Group and one of the three DOAJ Ambassadors in India. I was recently inducted into the CLACSO's working group Bienes Comunes y Acceso Abiertoon (Commons and Open Access). Together with the support of community members, colleagues and friends, as the Convener of the Open Access India network, I am participating actively in the Open Access movement in India. And I am on the board of AgriXIv and Thesis Commons hosted with OSF.
